PlanGrid brings the construction industry into the modern age. The PlanGrid iPad and Web App allows users to view, edit, and share blueprints quickly and easily.
Plangrid approached us to help revamp their marketing site to express their brand in a more modern and approachable way. Their initial site was built internally over a weekend, and the new site needed a more strategic approach.
We combined custom icons & illustrations, photography, and clean design to create a simple and effective long form product overview as the homepage.

Intent on showing their features visually, we created custom icons and illustrations that are simple, clear and distinctive. We pulled in their brand colors as accents.
To align with the construction market, the icons are designed to match the fun, yet professional aesthetic of the brand.
PlanGrid has clients across the globe. This made going to current construction sites impractical, but we still needed to show their app being used on job sites.
To solve this problem, we shot photos of the iPad with a hand model against green screen in our own studio and matched the lighting on existing photos from different construction sites.
The primary function of the homepage is to quickly and simply explain the PlanGrid product and get new prospects to sign up. Our approach combined minimal text with illustrations that emphasized the benefits of their product, services, and support. It concludes with a clear call to action.
As the company grows, conveying their culture is increasingly important for acquiring the best talent in the Bay Area. We've booked a few on-site photo shoots to capture images of their awesome location and team in action in San Franisco's Mission District.
